{"id":323959,"date":"2024-10-19T22:27:05","date_gmt":"2024-10-19T22:27:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/bsi-pas-70702016\/"},"modified":"2024-10-25T21:02:12","modified_gmt":"2024-10-25T21:02:12","slug":"bsi-pas-70702016","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/bsi\/bsi-pas-70702016\/","title":{"rendered":"BSI PAS 7070:2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This PAS speci\ufb01es a repeatable, uniformly applicable process structured so as to be implementable as a system for managing benchmarking processes, which will enable organizations to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Identify organizational needs for benchmarking through systematic examination of the organization\u2019s existing processes and procedures to identify those that could potentially bene\ufb01t from a benchmarking approach;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Articulate the purpose of benchmarking and how the information will be used;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Identify other organization(s) potentially capable of providing example of proven practice;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Document and analyse the practices followed and performance achieved both internally and by the identi\ufb01ed example organization(s);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Compare own practices and performance with that of the others analysed and identify differences;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Review differences identi\ufb01ed to enable management of the benchmarking organization to take decisions as to whether there is suf\ufb01cient organizational bene\ufb01t to justify changes;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>evaluate the bene\ufb01t achieved from the implemented changes in order to establish organizational performance expectations and substantiate ongoing results.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Benchmarking is not an independent activity, but rather a tool to gather the information about performance and practices within and external to an organization, allowing evaluation of internal performance, target setting and identi\ufb01cation of improvement opportunities. As such benchmarking must be implemented and monitored as part of organizational governance and aligned to what the organization needs to make decisions and manage performance (see <span class=\"xref\">Figure&nbsp;1<\/span>).<\/p>\n<p>The processes identi\ufb01ed in \ufb01gure 1 are annotated with the number of the relevant clauses of this speci\ufb01cation where they are detailed.<\/p>\n<p>The benchmarking model is appropriate for use in relation to all benchmarking types ( <b>see <span class=\"xref\">Annex&nbsp;A<\/span> <\/b>) and its implementation will ensure that organizations give the necessary priority to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Identifying, understanding and working to a coordinated benchmarking plan or code of conduct;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>selecting credible, relevant, target organizations;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>demonstrating that an established process has been followed; and<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>ensuring that benchmarking results are robust and open to scrutiny.with the objective of facilitating the reporting of benchmarking results in a credible manner and enabling genuine comparison between benchmarking results.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i>[Image removed.]<\/i><\/p>\n<div class=\"non-normative-note\">\n<div class=\"note-label\">\n  <span style=\"color:#0D4682\">NOTE<\/span>\n <\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color:#0D4682\"> <i>See <span class=\"xref\">Annex&nbsp;F<\/span> for examples of process \ufb02ow diagrams.<\/i> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><b>Benchmarking process management.
