{"id":492837,"date":"2024-11-05T12:40:05","date_gmt":"2024-11-05T12:40:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/as-2331-2-12001-r2017\/"},"modified":"2024-11-05T12:40:05","modified_gmt":"2024-11-05T12:40:05","slug":"as-2331-2-12001-r2017","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/as\/as-2331-2-12001-r2017\/","title":{"rendered":"AS 2331.2.1:2001 (R2017)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sets out the following three dissolution methods for the determining average mass or coating thickness; strip and weigh (dissolution of coating), strip and weigh (dissolution of basis metal), and analytical. <\/p>\n<p><b>Scope<\/b><\/p>\n<p> This Standard sets out the following three methods for the determination of the average mass or thickness of metallic coatings on small items: <br \/> (a) Method A\u2014Strip and weigh (dissolution of coating). <br \/> (b) Method B\u2014Strip and weigh (dissolution of basis metal). <br \/> (c) Method C\u2014Analytical. <br \/> These methods are suitable for measuring the average thickness, or mass, of coatings on small items where it is impracticable to measure the local thickness as described in AS 2331.1.1, AS 2331.1.2, AS 2331.1.3 or AS 2331.1.4. <br \/> The methods are suitable for routine control purposes where a more critical local thickness measurement is not required. <br \/> The methods are capable of an accuracy of \u00b15%. <br \/> The methods are generally limited to items or a collection of items that weigh not more than 200 g. <br \/> NOTE: The test procedures described in this Standard do not necessarily include all of the precautions required to satisfy health and safety aspects. Care should be taken to ensure that the procedures are carried out only by people who have received suitable training.
